Day 4 - September 18, 2009 (असोज २, २०६६)
The day started with a review session of the previous day. Gaurab initiated the session by asking the participants about the activities they have done on the previous day. Gaurab then pointed out the problems observed on the previous day and explained what the mistakes were, what the problems were and how they could be solved - such as planning before installation and getting the things in a right way. He also explained what the difference lies in connecting computers in a wired network and wireless network with illustrations on IP numbering and configuration required when routers are included in the network.
A short introduction to NetStumbler was provided with a download link from the wiki.
The session was then continued by Sebastain on Radio Mobile - the radio planning software that provided radio links and visual images based on the topography of the sites implemented. Being a comprehensive, the session was more of a demo session and it was asked with the participants to contact Sebastain if additional working details were required on Radio Mobile. Certain components of Radio Mobile such as GPS were also explained. Pawan Prakash explained some of the components in Nepali while Mr. Mahabir Pun provided some practical suggestions on usage of GPS and Radio Mobile as well as accuracy issue associated with these.
Before the lunch, the participants were grouped for the purpose of equipment installations on the fields (villages). Also, a quick session on the interfaces of different brands of equipments would be looked upon by the participants so that they are comfortable with anything new that may arise during the handling and configuration of the wireless equipments.

After the lunch, the class was divided into two major learning groups - one group would be learning 'Radio Mobile' from Sebastain while other group will try out different radio equipments in terms of their configuration and wireless setup. The one doing 'Radio Mobile' would be the ones who are familiar with wireless setup and need additional site survey estimations. The 'Radio Mobile' group moved to another room while the next group got engaged in their installation activities.
This continued to the late evening, when again the groups were called back to the training hall and asked to inform others about the problem they faced during the installations and how they find the solution to the problems. Gaurab undertook the session and also clarified the issues regarding the problems and their solutions.
A quick demo session on Radio Mobile was provided by Pawan Prakash Upreti and a quick installation safety remarks were put forward by Gaurab. Many illustrations on grounding was also provided by Sebastain where he stressed the importance of grounding for towers and radio installations.
